This year Rogers Pork will be benefitting A Just Harvest, an anti-hunger organization for all of Chicago.
A Just Harvest has three strategies for ending hunger:
Feeding Hungry People
Our Community Kitchen serves a nutritious dinner 365 days a year to anyone in need, distributes tens of thousands of pounds of food annually, and supplements the nutritional needs of children afterschool & during breaks.
Fighting for a Fair Economy
Northside P.O.W.E.R. (People Organized to Work, Educate and Restore) trains leaders and organizes communities to win public policies that alleviate poverty and hunger and create a more just economy.
Creating Economic Opportunity
The Genesis Project marshals community assets and other resources to create economic development opportunities in Rogers Park. Current projects include an aquaponics social enterprise & a microlending program.
A Just Harvest is always on the lookout for great volunteers and groups! Learn how here.
